Fishing Derby Shaver Lake 2010

The Scottish Rite language Disorders Center of Fresno held a fishing derby at Shaver Lake on Saturday, June 5.   The eighth annual event was attended by over 120 friends and fisherman.

The Center provides free services to children with learning and communication challenges.   The funds raised will be used to provide diagnostic and treatment services to children throughout the Central Valley.

The event supported by Kokane Power and Friends of the Center Guild.   The Derby had 21 children participating. Emree Blakenburg of Clovis was the winning child..   Prizes were paid for second place to Donovan Plagenza of Kingsburg and third place to Nick Koretoff of Fresno.   The Adult winner Mike Foxen of Shaver Lake was awarded $500 for first place. Second place went to Chuck Fisher (Reedley), third to Brian Seniff (Shaver Lake), fourth Ron to Mehling (Sanger) and fifth to Carl House (Fresno).

 

A raffle with over 50 prizes, a50/50 drawing and a Blind Bogey prize (Che Love of Hanford) rounded out the event.   Participants participated in a great time of barbecue and friendship following a day of fishing at the lake.
